It’s cold up there! It’s warm down here! You have snow shovels, we have beach shovels. Case closed! Actually it’s more than that. Our average daytime high in the month of November is 82 degrees and the average low temperature is 61 degrees. In addition, November is a dry month here, only 2 inches of rain on average. Today reports the temperature of the Gulf of Mexico at 80 degrees! Not too bad at all!
We also have sites to visit such as our historic Sanibel Lighthouse, or our famous Bailey Matthews Shell Museum, the J.N. Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, and over 20 miles of bike/walking paths all over Sanibel Island. Our restaurants are the best! Sanibel Island is full of Mom and Pop restaurants and shops. Locally owned and managed. We don’t have any national chain fast food burger joints or coffee shops. But you can get a great burger at Cheeburger Cheeburger and a café mocha at Bennett’s Coffee Shop, both on our main street; Periwinkle Way. And our island gift shops are definitely worth checking out; get your shark tooth necklaces and Pink Flamingo bottle openers.
I haven’t even started talking about our water sports. The fishing is fantastic, and we have five marinas that offer boat rentals, canoe rentals, and experienced fishing and shelling guides. And of course we have our world famous beaches. Miles and miles of the best shelling, relaxing and swimming you can find anywhere.
So make this your year to come and stay on Sanibel Island! And while you’re here give us a call and we can find you a permanent residence on the islands. Whether it’s a condo, home or vacant lot – we know about all of the Sanibel and Captiva Island real estate inventory. I’m sure we have the perfect place to fit your dreams of living in paradise!
We can show you everything available in your price range and buying criteria. If you want to start the search yourself, our website offers an advanced property search where you can search by specific criteria, neighborhood, condo building or map search.
